Georgetown Fireman’s Chili Cook-Off
Every September, Georgetown comes together for one of the most anticipated community events in Scott County — the Georgetown Fireman’s Chili Cook-Off. What started as a small local gathering has grown into a regional tradition drawing participants and attendees from across Kentucky and beyond.
A Community Tradition
The chili cook-off has become a Georgetown institution over its 25-year history. Hosted in partnership with the Georgetown Fire Department, the event brings together amateur and serious chili cooks competing for bragging rights while raising money for a cause that matters — Toys for Tots.
The event has grown year after year, earning recognition as one of the largest community events associated with State Farm Insurance in the entire country. That’s a remarkable achievement for a community the size of Georgetown.
Supporting Toys for Tots
Every dollar raised at the Georgetown Fireman’s Chili Cook-Off goes directly to Toys for Tots for Scott County and surrounding counties. Over the event’s history, thousands of dollars have been donated, ensuring local children experience the joy of the holiday season.
100% of tasting band proceeds support the cause.
How It Works
Attendees purchase an $8 tasting band that grants access to sample all competing chili entries. The atmosphere is festive — great food, community conversation, and the satisfaction of supporting local children.
Drinks and sandwiches are available separately for $1 at the event tent.
